How much does solar panel installation cost?

It depends on your roof size, the number of panels and whether you add a battery. The benchmark figures above are a useful guide, and our online quote builder gives you an instant, itemised estimate that we confirm as a fixed price at your free home survey. With 0% VAT until March 2027, there's no VAT to add either.

Is solar worth it in the North West?

Yes. Solar panels generate from daylight, not direct sun, so they still produce useful power on the cloudy days the North West is known for. Most of your savings come from using the electricity you generate instead of buying it from the grid, and a battery lets you store the rest for the evening. You also earn from any surplus you export.

Do I need planning permission for solar panels?

For most homes, solar is permitted development and needs no application. The exceptions are listed buildings and some conservation areas, where front-facing panels may need consent. We check this for you before you commit to anything.

How long does the installation take?

Most solar installs are completed in a single day by our own team. We handle the DNO application and certification, so there's nothing for you to chase.

What about my roof type?

We install on slate, tile, flat and metal roofs, and on period properties where chimney shading and fixings need extra care. A local installer who knows the housing stock plans for that at the survey rather than finding it on the day.
